St Michael the Archangel Church

The history of the Church of St Michael the Archangel in Cannes goes back to the mid-19th century, when the French Riviera gradually became one of the favourite destinations of European and Russian aristocracy. Founded in 1894 with the involvement of members of the Russian Imperial House, the church became the spiritual centre of the Russian community on the Riviera — a place of prayer, remembrance and hope for many generations of Russians far from their homeland.
